Nguiu trainees beside their new truck.The community of Nguiu on Bathurst Island in the Northern Territory took delivery of their new Russ Minipactor recently.

Working with Tiwi Islands Shire Council and Vanderfield Hino in Darwin, the new truck has been put into service collected the household waste from the main community and some outstations.

The unit is a 12 cubic metre Russ Maxipactor fitted to a Hino 1527 automatic. The community is now able to collect their rubbish from wheelie bins in the comfort of the air conditioned cab.
