Utopia Community Receives New Truck PDF Print E-mail

Russ Minipactor for UtopiaBarkly Shire Council, located in Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory, has taken delivery of their first Russ Minipactor System . The unit, an 8 cubic metre Russ Minipactor fitted on a Hino 300, has been delivered into the remote community of Utopia to help the local community council better manage their waste collection process.

Located approximately 400 kilometres south east of Tennant Creek the community is now able to do their own refuse collections in their community.

The community consists of 16 separate locations and requires the vehicle to travel around 400 kilometres to cover the full region. To ensure the vehicle can safely travel this far in the remote area the vehicle, a Hino 300 series 816 auto, has been fitted with an additional fuel tank to provide approximately 600 kilometres range in one fill.

The system was supplied in partnership with the Peter Kittle Motor company's, Tennant Creek branch. Sales Manager Barry Harman has now been instrumental in providing two remote communities in the Northern Territory with high quality waste collection equipment fitted to the reliable and rugged Hino 300 series 816 automatic cab/chassis.

The Russ Minipactor system has been designed from the ground up to be simple, safe and efficient. Having been in continuous production for more than 18 years, the system has been a proven success for all the customers.
